In this video I go through the project planning process in ‘Getting Things Done by David Allen’ (which I’ve literally fallen in love with by the way, I don’t feel like I emphasised how much this project planning process has been helping me in the video) to plan a redesign of my space. Project Planning involves mind mapping, which I know you guys wanted to see more about - I dive in to it at the end.

Do you want to hear more about mind mapping? I don't feel like this video was a proper deep dive, more of an overview.

1. Suss out your why. My why was:

To create a more functional and inspiring living environment, that
- Encourages connection when friends and family visit
- Encourages productivity while working or studying
- Encourages me to take more instagram photos (not kidding, this is important to me)
- Makes it easy to keep things looking tidy and together

Your why defines success, it drives what decisions you make throughout your project and it keeps you motivated.

2. Define your principles

Principles are the boundaries of your project. Think 'I would give others totally free rein to do this project as long as they…'

3. Vision / Outcome

Visualise the final result. What are you going to feel like when you've completed this project? What will the outcome look like?

4. Brainstorming

This is where mind mapping comes in. I honestly love mind mapping, it's SUCH a helpful tool - I go through how I mind map a little bit in the video.

5. Organising

Now you're getting a bit more intentional and putting your plan in to an organised list of sorts so that you can tick things off as you do them.

Organise your project sequentially, by component or by priorities - depending on the type of project.

6. Next Actions

Make sure that you have solid 'next actions' identified for your project.
